SPANISH GEOPOLITICS IN THE ANNUAL ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
Historical studies about Spanish defeat in Annual operations has been done in the theoretical framework of an undetermined military effort. Following the path of the Picasso Inquire Spanish presence and intervention in Morocco has been seen as an isolated military decision, carry on by military personnel without civilian scrutiny except by a reduced élite. However this vision does not take in account the fact that Spain does not exist in a bubble where the strategical decisions are take in an isolated way regarding the strategical environment in each moment. The purpose of this article is to analyze which external influences lead Spain into Morocco and affected the course of military operations so it is basic to understand the entire development of military operations and political events.
