  • The Crown and the hispanic americans countries

    Whe had wanted to dedicate number 39 of C.I.H. to the study of the theme "The Crown and the Hispanic-American peoples". Through the different articles included in this issue, the role of the Spanish Crown in the arrival of the spaniards in America and in the formation of the various peoples with the condition of Hispanic Americans have been analysed.

    It reflects the contributions made by experts and researchers within the Course held with the same name on November 18 and 19, 2021, organized by the "Cisneros" History Seminar of the Spanish University Foundation. The course was directed by Mr. José Luis Sánchez García, director of the "Cisneros" History Seminar and patron of the Spanish University Foundation, and as executive director and head of the organization Mrs. Cristina del Prado Higuera, professor of Contemporary History at the Rey Juan Carlos University.

  • Annual 100 years later

    We wanted to dedicate this number 38 of C.I.H. to the commemoration of the first centenary of the historic battle in North Africa. This number reflects the contributions of researchers within the course "Annual 100 years later: 1921-2021" that the History Seminar "Cisneros" held on October 14, 2021

    The course was directed by Dr. José Luis Sánchez García, director of the "Cisneros" History Seminar and patron of the Spanish University Foundation and, as executive director and head of organization, Dra. Cristina del Prado Higuera, professor of Contemporary History of the Rey Juan Carlos University.

    Different experts have participated in the review and analysis of what happened, such as the professors, Dr. D. Enrique San Miguel Pérez and Dr. D. José Manuel Azcona Pastor; the colonels of Artillery, Mr. Emilio Sánchez de Rojas Díaz, Mr. Fernando Caballero Echevarría and Mr. José Luis Cabello; Mr. Antonio Rubio, former deputy director of the newspaper El Mundo and Mr. Miguel Madueño, professor of Contemporary History at the Rey Juan Carlos University.

  • Empress Eugenia de Montijo: 100 years since the death of a universal Spanish woman

    We wanted to dedicate this volume to the memory of Doña Eugenia de Portocarrero Palafox y Kirkpatrick (1826 - 1920), popularly known as Eugenia de Montijo, on the occasion of the centenary of the death of this illustrious Spanish woman who became Empress of France, after her marriage to Napoleon III (1808 - 1873). Empress consort, therefore, but also three times direct regent of the destinies of the Gallic nation and of all its overseas possessions, at critical moments for the homeland of her contemporaries Victor Hugo or Stendhal, and decisive for the configuration of Europe, during the time of the Second French Empire (1852 -1870).

    New publication of the journal Cuadernos de Investigación Histórica, number 36 entirely dedicated to the The Spanish Feat: Magallanes and Elcano. The contributions of the authors and experts who, headed by the director of the Seminar Mr. José Luis Sánchez, contribute from different perspectives and areas, to illuminate and deepen one of the great deeds of humanity carried out by our nation at the beginning of the Age Modern and that reconfigured the image of the world, already in his time and for posterity. The collaborating authors have enriched this monographic volume dedicated to the commemoration of the V centenary of the company that carried out the First Circunvalación del Globo Terrestre.

  • Tribute to Saint Thomas of Villanova

    New publication of the journal Cuadernos de Investigación Histórica, an issue entirely dedicated to the figure of Saint Thomas of Villanova . The contributions of the authors and experts who, headed by Cardinal D. Antonio Cañizares, contribute from different perspectives and areas, to illuminate and deepen the figure of Saint Thomas of Villanova , doctors and scholars who participated as speakers in the congress that we held on the Saint, under the title: Santo Tomás de Villanueva postulated as Doctor of the Church, held at the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV), in January 2018. They are authors who collaborate and now enrich this monographic volume dedicated to the study of the figure and relevant doctrine of the evangelical Bishop, great pastor of the Church and its reformer in the 16th century, at a time of profound historical, cultural and spiritual changes.
