The strong personality of a Castilian woman: Teresa de Jesús
Abstract
The strong personality of this Castilian woman filled all those who knew her with admiration. On her path of mysticism, Teresa de Cepeda never left the real world, inhabited as it is by human beings of flesh and blood with all their worries. She was able to meditate on the daily tasks of Martha and Mary, the sisters of Lazarus, and to bring together in her life both contemplation and action. She was a woman ahead of her time, capable of building momentum within her order, creating the famous seventeen foundations in the heart of Spain and renewing the Church in its European and Catholic outreach.
