Call for Papers n. 40 (2027)
Dear Researchers,
We are pleased to announce that the journal Cuadernos de Pensamiento is currently accepting manuscripts for its 40th issue, a special edition titled "Dignity in the Spanish Golden Age and its Foundation in the School of Salamanca." This issue aims to explore the concept of ontological human dignity—rooted in the human being as the image of God—which was philosophically developed by the School of Salamanca and permeated the Spanish Golden Age, giving rise to numerous ramifications. The monograph will feature original, unpublished studies examining the thought of the Spanish Golden Age and the School of Salamanca through the lens of dignity. Topics will range from the foundations of this concept (philosophy and theology) to its applications in literature (Calderón, Lope, Quevedo, Cervantes, the mystics, etc.), education (Calasanz, the Jesuits), healthcare (Bernardino de Obregón, Saint John of God), the "American question," and care for the needy. We also invite submissions for the journal's "Miscellany" section, which is permanently open to manuscripts and subject to a double-blind peer-review process. Furthermore, the journal continuously accepts book reviews covering philosophical, legal, political, and humanistic thought.
This issue is coordinated by Dr. Jaime Vilarroig (CEU Cardenal Herrera University) and Dr. Gian Pietro Soliani (Ca' Foscari University of Venice), in collaboration with members of the research project “Dignity in the Spanish Golden Age” from the CEU San Pablo Foundation.
LANGUAGES: Contributions should preferably be written in Spanish or English, although the inclusion of other languages could be discussed upon justified request.
